Service terms.
How Sanctuary’s current testing service is provided, and the responsibilities that come with using it.
Updated 12 October 2026
Operator and scope
These terms describe the Sanctuary Notes website and testing service, operated personally in Belgium. The operator is identified in the privacy notice. Contact: support@sanctuarynotes.app. They apply to features made available to you and do not promise access to features still in development.
The privacy notice describes how personal information is handled. Agreement to service terms is separate from any consent needed for sensitive information or optional diagnostics.
Your account
Use an email address you control and protect your password. Email confirmation is required for protected account features. Use the same account in your existing installation so its Sanctuary ID can be linked correctly. Tell support if you suspect unauthorised access.
Do not impersonate another person, access accounts without permission, bypass security controls or use the service unlawfully. Account recovery and deletion requests may require reasonable ownership checks.
Your entries and shared content
You retain the rights you hold in your entries, recordings and files. Sanctuary needs to process them to provide the saving, recovery or sharing features you request, subject to the privacy notice and any additional lawful condition needed for sensitive information.
Only upload or share content you are entitled to use. Respect other people’s privacy and obtain any permission needed for their information, images or recordings. People you share with may see and save the content.
Do not post unlawful, threatening or abusive material. Report concerns through the app or support. Shared content or account access may be restricted where necessary for safety, security or legal reasons. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the action and provide a way to contact support about it.
Testing, saving and availability
Sanctuary is currently in testing. Features and availability can change, and faults or interruptions may occur. Desktop access remains closed. The iPhone version currently uses the mobile browser and Home Screen installation; Android testing is distributed through Google Play.
Account saving and recovery depend on the app version and service availability and can be paused during reliability work. Check your entries after setup. Keep an export of information you want to preserve, and contact support before clearing storage or reinstalling if information appears to be missing.
Material changes to data use require the separate notice or consent required by law.
Stopping use and requesting deletion
You can stop using Sanctuary and request account or data deletion through the public deletion page. Removing the app, signing out or deleting a local entry does not automatically erase every online or recovery copy. The response will explain the request’s outcome and any lawful retention.
Restrictions, service changes or account closure must respect applicable law and your data-protection rights. A privacy request is not conditional on accepting new service terms.
Applicable law and your rights
Belgian law applies to these terms, subject to mandatory protections that apply where you live. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, or restrict your right to complain to a data-protection authority or use a competent court.
Questions or disputes: support@sanctuarynotes.app. These terms do not require arbitration or a waiver of mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.
